As another Christmas approaches, we once again fall head over heels with the latest John Lewis advert. Onwards from the days of Monty the Penguin, festive-lovers across Britain now find themselves seduced by the compassionate meeting of the ‘man in the moon’ and a young girl desperate to ensure we all feel loved this Christmas.
The ad, created by agency Adam&EveDDB, sees the isolated man on the moon eventually get the Christmas he has always dreamed of as a result of a heart-warming gift from a little girl back here on Earth. With other adverts, such as Burberry, crafting a materialistic approach to their festive advertising, John Lewis have once again taken a unique, more pure approach.
John Lewis’ role as a brand that cares about you appears evident here, with the latter really encapsulating the true meaning of Christmas. Enjoy the advert whilst it’s here, for it will seem all too fast before next year’s preview is bringing a new tear to your eye.
